【摘要】:Thistestmethodestablishesthetemperatureatwhich50%ofthespecimenstestedfailwhensubjectedtotheconditionsspecifiedherein.Thetestprovidesfortheevaluationoflong-timeeffectssuchascrystallization,orthoseeffectsthatareintroducedbylow-temperatureincompatibilityofplasticizersinthematerialundertest.Plasticsandelastomersareusedinmanyapplicationsrequiringlow-temperatureflexingwithorwithoutimpact.Usedataobtainedbythismethodtopredictthebehaviorofplasticandelastomericmaterialsatlowtemperaturesonlyinapplicationsinwhichtheconditionsofdeformationaresimilartothosespecifiedinthistestmethod.Thistestmethodhasbeenfoundusefulforspecificationpurposes,butdoesnotnecessarilymeasurethelowesttemperatureatwhichthematerialissuitableforuse.FIG.1DimensionalRequirementsBetweenSpecimenClampandStrikingEdge(TypeA)FIG.2TypicalClamp(TypeA)Note8212;Dimensionsareinmillimetres.FIG.3DimensionalDetailsofStrikingEdgeandClampingDevice,TypeB(PositioningofUnnotchedTestSpecimen)FIG.4AssembledClampwithTestSpecimens,TypeB1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthetemperatureatwhichplasticsandelastomersexhibitbrittlefailureunderspecifiedimpactconditions.Tworoutineinspectionandacceptanceproceduresarealsoprovided.Note18212;WhentestingrubbersforimpactbrittlenessuseTestMethodsD2137.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.3Duetothepotentialsafetyandenvironmentalhazardsassociatedwithmercury-filledthermometers,theuseofalternativetemperaturemeasuringdevices(suchasthermocouplesandRTDs)isencouraged.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note28212;ThistestmethodandISO974(E)aretechnicallyequivalentwhenusingtheTypeBfixtureandtheTypeIIIspecimen,however,theminimumnumberofspecimensthatarerequiredtobetestedissignificantlydifferentwhenusingthistestmethod.TheISOmethodrequiresthataminimumof100specimensbetested.
