【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodmeasuresthecontactangleofatestliquidincontactwithaflatspecimenofafilmorapapersubstrateunderspecifiedtestconditions.Thistestmethodmaybeusedwithanyliquidofinterestwhichiscompatiblewiththeequipmentused,particularlywithregardtoliquidviscosity,tackiness,andvaporpressure(evaporation).Thistestmethodmaybeusedwithanysubstrateofinterest,whichcanbecuttodimensionscompatiblewiththeequipmentused.1.2Formaterialswhichsorbthetestliquidunderthespecifiedtestconditions,therateofchangeofthecontactangleasafunctionoftimemaybesignificant,andmaybedeterminedusingproceduresdescribedinthistestmethod.Itisalsopossibletoevaluatethesorptivepropertiesofasurface,astheremainingliquidvolumeontopofthespecimensurfaceismeasuredasafunctionoftime.1.3Theconditionsrequiredinthistestmethodspecifyreagentwaterasthetestliquidwhentestingpapersdesignedtobeabsorbent,suchasabsorbenttissuegrades.1.4Conditionsarespecifiedforthetestingofawiderangeofpapersconsideredtobeoflowabsorbanceornonabsorbent,includingreleasepapers,sized,coated,orunsizedpapersdesignedforprinting,writing,wrapping,andsimilartaskswherethepapersurfaceinteractionwithaqueousorsolventbasedinksorotheraqueousornonaqueousliquidsisimportant.Insuchcases,testliquidsotherthanreagentwater,includingwritingandprintinginks,ororganicliquidsormixturesoforganicliquidsmaybeusedasthetestliquiduponprioragreementofthoseinvolvedinthetesting,providedtheliquidiscompatiblewiththeequipmentused.Wheretestliquidsotherthanreagentwaterareused,theactualliquidusedisreported.1.5Conditionsarealsospecifiedforthetestingofpolymerfilms,polymer-coatedpapers,paperlaminates,felt,textilesandnon-wovens,usingwaterorotherfluidscompatiblewiththeequipmentandimportanttotheend-useapplicationsofthematerialstested,includinggluingandprinting.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
