【摘要】:ThepHvaluesoftheextractsgiveanindicationoftheacidityoralkalinityofthefiberanditswater-solubleimpurities.Thesevaluesareusefulinindicatingpreviousprocessingandinanticipatingsubsequentperformance.Forparticularpurposes,thepHofanextractpreparedbyonemethodmaybeamoreinformativeindexthananotherandasaconsequencefouroptionalextractionproceduresareincluded.Thistestmethodisnotrecommendedforacceptancetestingbecausethebetween-laboratoryprecisionisrelativelypoor.Insomecases,thepurchaserandthesellermayhavetotestacommercialshipmentofoneormorespecificmaterialsbythebestavailablemethod,eventhoughthemethodhasnotbeenrecommendedforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments.Insuchacase,ifthereisdisagreementarisingfromdifferencesinvaluesreportedbythepurchaserandthesellerwhenusingthismethodforacceptancetesting,thestatisticalbias,ifany,betweenthelaboratoryofthepurchaserandthelaboratoryofthesellershouldbedetermined,witheachcomparisonbeingbasedontestingspecimensrandomlydrawnfromonesampleofmaterialofthetypebeingevaluated.1.1ThistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthepHofaqueousextractsfromwoolandsimilaranimalfibers.Itisapplicabletofibersinanycondition-rawwool,scouredwool,sliver,top,yarn,orfabric.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificprecautionarystatements,seeSection11.
