【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheequipmentandlaboratoryprocedureforthedeterminationoftheradialcrushingstrengthofmaterialsusingeitheraplainpowdermetallurgy(P/M)bearingorahollowcylindricaltestspecimen.Thisisadestructivetestthatproducesquantitativeresults.1.2Limitations1.2.1Theprincipleofthisprocedureisbasedonthematerialbeingtestedhavingminimalductility.Thepermanentdeflectionofthecylinderduringthetestshouldnotexceed10%oftheoutsidediameter.1.2.2Theradialcrushingstrengthtestresultsshouldbeusedonlyasaguideifthetestspecimenhasawallthicknessthatisgreaterthanone-thirdoftheoutsidediameter.Thesetestresultsshouldthenonlybeusedforcomparisonwithdatafromthetestspecimensoflikematerialsandsimilardimensions.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
