【摘要】:Spoilageofpaintinthecontainerisoftenrelatedtotheuseofcontaminatedrawmaterials,water(particularlyrecycledwashwater),vessels,piping,andequipmentinthemanufacturingplant.Thereisaneedforasimplemethodtodeterminethepresenceorabsenceofmicroorganismsinplantsthatmanufacturepaintsandcoatings.Suchadeterminationenablesthemanufacturertoestablishthepointofcontamination(thatis,rawmaterialsorproblemhousekeepingareasintheplant)tohelpinsolvingthespoilageproblem.Note18212;Somecontaminationinplantareasistobeexpected,sincemicroorganismsareubiquitousandcannotgenerallybeeliminatedpractically(itiswhatanin-canpreservativeissupposedtocontrol).Excessivelevelsofcontaminationorcontaminatedrawmaterialscanexceedthecapabilityofthepreservative.Ifyouhaveexcessivecontaminationintheplant,therearemethodsfordecontaminationincludingsteam,preservatives,bleach,etc.Theseshouldbediscussedwithyourbiocidesupplierandusedwithcare.Recoveryofspoiledorcontaminatedproductsisoftennotfeasible,soanadequateleveloftheappropriatebiocideinconjunctionwithgoodplanthousekeepingpracticesareessential.Yourbiocidesuppliercanalsohelphere.Thistestmethodmaybeusedbypersonswithoutbasicmicrobiologicaltraining,butsometrainingonaseptictechniqueswouldberecommended.Note28212;Thereliabilityoftheresultsobtainedfromthistestmethodisextremelydependentonthetechniquesemployed.Impropertechniquescanresultinasterilesampleappearingtobecontaminated,andevenworse,acontaminatedsampleappearingtobesterile(seealso5.1).Itisrecommendedthatyouconsultwithyourbiocidesupplier,rawmaterialsupplier,oranindependenttestinglaboratorytoconfirmquestionableresults.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedureforthedeterminationofthemicrobialcondition(contaminationorsterility)ofrawmaterialsusedinthemanufactureofpaint,andthemicrobialconditionofpaintandpaintmanufacturingareas.1.2ThevaluesinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
