【摘要】:1.1Thispracticecoverstheuseofthermalinsulationsformedbyanumberofthermalradiationshieldspositionedperpendiculartothedirectionofheatflow.Theseradiationshieldsconsistofalternatelayersofalow-emittancemetalandaninsulatinglayercombinedsuchthatmetal-to-metalcontactintheheatflowdirectionisavoidedanddirectheatconductionisminimized.Thesearecommonlyreferredtoasmultilayerinsulations(MLI)orsuperinsulations(SI)bytheindustry.1.2Thepracticecoverstheuseoftheseinsulationconstructionswherethewarmboundarytemperaturesarebelowapproximately450K.1.3Insulationsofthisconstructionareusedwhenapparentthermalconductivitylessthan0.007W/mK(0.049Btuin./hft2F)at300karerequired.1.4Insulationsofthisconstructionareusedinavacuumenvironment.1.5Thispracticecoverstheperformanceconsiderations,typicalapplications,manufacturingmethods,materialspecification,andsafetyconsiderationsintheuseoftheseinsulationsincryogenicservice.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.7hisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificsafetyhazards,seeSection8.
