【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverstherequirementsforchromiumdiffusionofmetalsbythepackcementationmethod.Packdiffusionemploysthechemicalvapordepositionofametalwhichissubsequentlydiffusedintothesurfaceofasubstrateathightemperature.Thematerialtobecoated(substrate)isimmersedorsuspendedinapowdercontainingchromium(source),ahalidesalt(activator),andaninertdiluentsuchasalumina(filler).Whenthemixtureisheated,theactivatorreactstoproduceanatmosphereofchromiumhalideswhichtransferschromiumtothesubstrateforsubsequentdiffusion.Thechromium-richsurfaceenhancescorrosion,thermalstability,andwear-resistantproperties.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
