【摘要】:Theprimaryuseofthistestmethodistoevaluatenewadditivepackagesinspecificfuelstoensurethatfuel-waterseparabilitywillnotbecompromisedbytheuseoftheadditivepackage,eitherattheirnormaltreatratesoratseveraltimestheintendedtreatratetoevaluatetheimpactofpotentialovertreatment.WaterVolumeChanges8212;Usingthistechniquerevealthepresenceofwater-solublecomponents,suchasalcohols,inthefuel.InterfaceConditionRatings8212;Usingthistechniquerevealthepresenceofpartiallysolublecomponents,suchassurfactants,inthefuel.Additivesorcontaminantsthataffecttheinterfacecouldharmwaterseparationpropertiesoffuelsinequipmentandquicklyinhibitthefreeflowoffuelthroughfiltersandinjectionequipment,causingadecreaseincombustionperformance.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheevaluationofthetendencyofwaterandfuelswithafinalboilingpointoflessthan390x00B0;C,asmeasuredinTestMethodD86,toseparatecleanlyratherthancreateemulsionswhentheymaycontainpotentialemulsionformingadditivesorcomponents,orhavebeenadditizedwithpotentialemulsionformingadditives,orcomponents.1.2Thistestmethodappliesprimarilytogasoline,diesel,kerosine,anddistillategradesofgasturbine,marine,homeheatingoilsandfurnacefuels(seeSpecificationsD396,D975,D2880,D3699,D4814,andD6985).Forfuelcomponentssuchasbiodieseloralcohol,refertoX1.2andX1.3.1.3Thistestmethodisnotmeanttocertifyorqualifyfuelsforsale,butitisintendedforusebyadditivesupplierstodeterminetheneedfordemulsifiercomponentsintheiradditivepackages.1.4Thistestmethodisnotmeantfortestingoffuelscontaininglargeamountsofaqueoussolublecomponents,suchasE85,orfortestingofwateremulsifiedfuels,orfortestingofaviationfuels.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
