【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesanindicationoftherelativesmokeproducingpropertiesofkerosinesandaviationturbinefuelsinadiffusionflame.Thesmokepointisrelatedtothehydrocarbontypecompositionofsuchfuels.Generallythemorearomaticthefuelthesmokiertheflame.Ahighsmokepointindicatesafueloflowsmokeproducingtendency.Thesmokepoint(andLuminometernumberwithwhichitcanbecorrelated)isquantitativelyrelatedtothepotentialradiantheattransferfromthecombustionproductsofthefuel.Becauseradiantheattransferexertsastronginfluenceonthemetaltemperatureofcombustorlinersandotherhotsectionpartsofgasturbines,thesmokepointprovidesabasisforcorrelationoffuelcharacteristicswiththelifeofthesecomponents.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedurefordeterminationofthesmokepointofkerosineandaviationturbinefuel.Note18212;ThereisgoodcorrelationbetweenLuminometernumber(TestMethodD1740)andsmokepointwhichisrepresentedinAppendixX1.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
