【摘要】:ThispartofISO10993specifiestestmethodsfortheassessmentofthelocaleffectsafterimplantationofbiomaterialsintendedforuseinmedicaldevices.ThispartofISO10993appliestomaterialsthatare:-solidandnon-biodegradable;-degradableand/orresorbable;-non-solid,suchasporousmaterials,liquids,pastesandparticulates.Thetestspecimenisimplantedintoasiteandanimalspeciesappropriatefortheevaluationofthebiologicalsafetyofthematerial.Theseimplantationtestsarenotintendedtoevaluateordeterminetheperformanceofthetestspecimenintermsofmechanicalorfunctionalloading.ThispartofISO10993mayalsobeappliedtomedicaldevicesthatareintendedtobeusedtopicallyinclinicalindicationswherethesurfaceorliningmayhavebeenbreached,inordertoevaluatelocaltissueresponses.Thelocaleffectsareevaluatedbyacomparisonofthetissueresponsecausedbyatestspecimentothatcausedbycontrolmaterialsusedinmedicaldevicesofwhichtheclinicalacceptabilityandbiocompatibilitycharacteristicshavebeenestablished.Theobjectiveofthetestmethodsistocharacterizethehistoryandevolutionofthetissueresponseafterimplantationofamedicaldevice/biomaterialincludingfinalintegrationorresorption/degradationofthematerial.Inparticularfordegradable/resorbablematerialsthedegradationcharacteristicsofthematerialandtheresultingtissueresponseshouldbedetermined.ThispartofISO10993doesnotdealwithsystemictoxicity,carcinogenicity,teratogenicityormutagenicity.However,thelong-termimplantationstudiesintendedforevaluationoflocalbiologicaleffectsmayprovideinsightintosomeoftheseproperties.SystemictoxicitystudiesconductedbyimplantationmaysatisfytherequirementsofthispartofISO10993.

【摘要】:Thisisafire-test-responsestandard.Thistestmethodprovidesameanstomeasurethesmokeobscurationresultingfromburningelectricalinsulatingmaterialscontainedinelectricaloropticalfibercableswhenthecablespecimens,excludingaccessories,aresubjectedtoaspecifiedflamingignitionsourceandburnfreelyunderwellventilatedconditions.Thistestmethodprovidestwodifferentprotocolsforexposingthematerials,whenmadeintocablespecimens,toanignitionsource(approximately20kW),fora20mintestduration.Useittodeterminetheflamepropagationandsmokereleasecharacteristicsofthematerialscontainedinsingleandmulticonductorelectricaloropticalfibercablesdesignedforuseincabletrays.Thistestmethoddoesnotprovideinformationonthefireperformanceofelectricaloropticalfibercablesinfireconditionsotherthantheonesspecificallyusedinthistestmethodnordoesitmeasurethecontributionofthecablestoadevelopingfirecondition.Datadescribingtheburningbehaviorfromignitiontotheendofthetestareobtained.Theproductionoflightobscuringsmokeismeasured.Theburningbehaviorisdocumentedvisually,byphotographicorvideorecordings,orboth.Thetestequipmentissuitableformakingother,optional,measurements,includingtherateofheatreleaseoftheburningspecimen,byanoxygenconsumptiontechniqueandweightloss.Anothersetofoptionalmeasurementsaretheconcentrationsofcertaintoxicgasspeciesinthecombustiongases.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard(seeIEEE/ASTMSI10).Thisstandardmeasuresanddescribestheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditions,butdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfirehazardorfireriskassessmentofthematerials,productsorassembliesunderactualfireconditions.Firetestingofproductsandmaterialsisinherentlyhazardous.Employadequatesafeguardsforpersonnelandpropertyinconductingthesetests.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
