【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationof(1)thetensilestrengthorbreakingtenacityofcottonfibersasaflatbundleusinganominalzerogagelength,or(2)thetensilestrengthorbreakingtenacityandtheelongationatthebreakingloadofcottonfibersasaflatbundlewith1/8-in.(3.2-mm)clampspacing.Thistestmethodisapplicabletoloosefibersofuntreatedcottonswhethertakenbeforeprocessingorobtainedfromatextileproduct.1.2Thistestmethodisdesignedprimarilyforusewithspecialfiberbundleclampsandspecialstrengthtestinginstrumentsbutmaybeusedwithothertensilestrengthandelongationtestingmachineswhenequippedwithappropriateadapterstoaccommodatethefiberclamps.OthermethodsformeasuringthebreakingtenacityoffiberbundlesincludeTestMethodD1294,TestforBreakingStrengthofWoolFiberBundles-1ingageLength;andD5867,TestMethodforMeasurementofPhysicalPropertiesofCottonFibersbyHighVolumeInstruments.1.3Thevaluesstatedineitheracceptablemetricunitsorinotherunitsshallberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesexpressedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyofeachother,withoutcombiningvaluesinanyway.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
