【摘要】:Briquetsofgranularbituminouscoalsandanthracitepreparedinaccordancewiththelaboratoryproceduresofthispracticewillhaveflat,scratch-freesurfacessuitableforexaminationwithamicroscopeusingreflectedlightillumination.Thepolishedsurfacesofbriquettespreparedbythispracticewillcontainparticlesrepresentativeoftheoriginalgrosssample.Samplespreparedbythispracticeareusedformicroscopicaldeterminationofthereflectanceoftheorganiccomponentsinapolishedspecimenofcoal(TestMethodD2798)andformicroscopicaldeterminationofthevolumepercentofphysicalcomponentsofcoal(TestMethodD2799).1.1Thispracticecoverslaboratoryproceduresforthepreparationofgranularsamplesofbituminouscoalandanthracitesamplesforexaminationwithamicroscopeusingreflectedlightillumination.Itdoesnotapplytothepreparationoforientedblocksofcoal.1.2ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcernsassociatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
