【摘要】:Thistestmethodfordeterminingmicronairereadingofcottonfibersisconsideredsatisfactoryforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentswhenthelevelsarecontrolledbyuseofafullrangeofcalibrationcottonstandards.5.1.1Incaseofadisputearisingfromdifferencesinreportedtestresultswhenusingthistestmethodforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments,thepurchaserandthesuppliershouldconductcomparativeteststodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweentheirlaboratories.Competentstatisticalassistanceisrecommendedfortheinvestigationofbias.Asaminimum,thetwopartiesshouldtakeagroupoftestspecimensthatareashomogeneousaspossibleandthatarefromalotofmaterialofthetypeinquestion.Thetestspecimensshouldthenberandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.TheaverageresultsfromthetwolaboratoriesshouldbecomparedusingStudentrsquo;t-testforunpaireddataandanacceptableprobabilitylevelchosenbythetwopartiesbeforethetestingisbegun.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrectedorthepurchaserandthesuppliermustagreetointerpretfuturetestresultsinthelightoftheknownbias.Themicronairereadingofcottonfibersisafunctionofbothfinenessandmaturityandisrelatedtomillprocessingperformanceandtothequalityoftheendproducts.Factorscorrelatedwithmicronairereadingincludecleaningefficiency,neppiness,andthestrengthanduniformityoftheyarn.Note28212;Amodificationofthistestmethodisusedincommercialtradingtoselectbaleswhichwillconformtocontractguaranteesforspecifiedmicronairereadings.Forthispurpose,itisusualpracticetotestonlyonespecimenpersample.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthemicronairereadingofloosecottonfibersbymeasuringtheresistanceofaplugofcottonfiberstoairflowunderprescribedconditions.Note1Forothermethodsfordeterminingthefinenessoffibersbasedontheair-flowprinciple,refertoTestMethodD1449,TestMethodforSpecificAreaandImmaturityRatioofCottonFibers(ArealometerMethod),andtoTestMethodD1282,TestMethodforResistancetoAirFlowasanIndicationofAverageFiberDiameterofWoolTop,CardSliver,andScouredWool.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
